There was a yard sale a few miles from my house on Wednesday. Who has yard sales on a Wednesday? They had advertised in the paper that they had Revere Ware. That's all it said. Well, actually it said "Rever Ware".  No indication of  how many or which pieces. Every piece of ReverE Ware I've listed has sold within a week and has sold well! So I knew I wanted to be at the sale the minute they opened the doors at 8:00. But the kids would NOT get out of bed! We ended up getting there at 8:05, just in time to see someone handing over $75 for the whole 21-piece set!! :-(  I was devastated. But then I heard her say, "I didn't want the whole set. I just wanted a couple pieces out of it." Apparently the seller was unwilling to split the set up. So I tapped the buyer on the shoulder and said, "Did I hear you say you didn't want that whole set??" And she said, "No, I really don't. I just wanted a couple pieces." I said, "I'd love to buy whatever you don't want!" And she said, "Well then let's work out a deal!!" I browsed the rest of the yard sale (found nothing at all) while she decided which pieces she wanted to keep. She kept the stockpot (naturally) and one set of 4 saucepans. She sold me 3 skillets and the other 3 saucepans (as well as lids for 4 of them) for $40. I was absolutely thrilled, she was absolutely thrilled. It was a win-win. Of course it could have been a win-ner/win-ner if we'd been there 2 minutes earlier, but that's ok. I really am very happy with the ones I got. I'll make my investment back on just one pan!

Wanna know the craziest part?? They're already listed! Yep, I actually managed to list something the same day I bought it :)

  1. I found a gorgeous black silk coat from Bloomingdale's for $2.00 an blue velvet NWT H7M blazer for $2.00 each! Hoping to turn those two into at least $40 or more this month!

  2. I found 3 Starbucks 3 oz Demi cup & saucers (Ebay # 130570193179) for a buck a piece at a thrift store. They are so cute, but haven't had a single nibble. Maybe I need to list them as a set of 3 instead of individually? May try that if this first one doesn't sell.

  3. I found a pair of infant girls Erin Ugg boots for $2 at a yard sale. They are already listed and I expect them to land in the $20+ range. If I had a girl I would have totally kept them they are soooooo cute and I'm way too frugal to pay full price for them even for me!

  5. I haven't really found anything good to resell but I did find a gun case storage chest (which I am using as a coffee table and to store my ebay inventory ~ I did not know it was a gun case as it was locked and no key but hubby got it open after purchasing it) and I found an awesome vintage table. I wrote about both items in different blog posts

  6. Our Goodwill was having a 50% off everything Labor Day sale. I found lots of goodies, the best being a pair of Danskos! I also found Cole Haan's, Florsheims, and believe it or not, NWT Circo cowgirl boots! Without your blog, I would have passed everything up!

  7. The most amazing thing I found this week was my shrinking Ebay piles. Yep, I actually got some things listed that I've been procrastinating on and even bigger gulp I have already sold some of my items that I just picked up this weekend. To me that is the Ebay gold!
